As much as I adore getting out as much as I can in summer, it can be a pain when your eyes are watering, nose is streaming and your throat feels like it's on fire.
I don't usually get hay fever however this year has brought on a horrible bout of it and with my nose streaming as I write this, I can safely say it's no fun so here's a few tips on how to get out and about and not let hay fever stop you from enjoying those rare few days of sunshine we get here in the UK.

Putting a small amount of Vaseline around and into your nostrils can help trap the pollen before it goes into your nose, sounds crazy but this is a highly effective way of protecting yourself.
Take antihistamines
As soon as your symptoms start, take some anti-histamines and keep an eye on when the pollen count is high. Anti-histamines have different ingredients, so if one tablet isn't working for you, consider swapping to another type.
Protecting your eyes
Sunglasses are a good way to protect your eyes and look stylish at the same time! Wraparound ones are the best for hay fever sufferers as they offer most protection.
Stay indoors at peak times
Avoid going outdoors during the early hours and in the evening when the pollen count is highest and keep windows/doors closed.
